Soccer has played a vital role in my life since the age of 5. I started playing competitively in Kindergarten and even got the opportunity to travel all the way to Gothenburg, Sweden for a tournament. However, like in every contact sport there is always the concern of injury. Sadly in my case this concern became a reality after I tore my ACL two times. Yet, this obstacle has led me to other positive and eye-opening opportunities such as volunteering and traveling.
After my knee injuries, volunteering  has become a major part of my life. Through many different organizations, such as San Dieguito Alliance for Drug free Youth, Miracle League, and Helen Woodward I have taken the opportunity to become actively involved in my community. I love helping others and mentoring young students. Through the Study Buddies program, I was able to tutor elementary students after school. In addition, through Miracle League I was able to help disabled people play baseball.
Traveling has led me to many eye opening experiences and strengthen my global outlook. I have seen so many different cultures, and I have devleoped a much more accepting view and open perspective of the world from my travels.
